Function

Enhancement of data transmission reliability and essential reduction of transmitter power in space communication equipment.

Description

The multithreshold decoder (MTD) uses novel coding algorithms for reliability enhancement of digital transmission and can be adapted in a wide range of parameters: redundancy, decoding speed, modulation type, noise level, and reliability.

Simulator of digital satellite and space communication channels (SDSCC) is designed for debugging and testing of various decoding methods in channels with high noise level. It provides effective estimates of capabilities of various coding methods, including multithreshold algorithms (MTD), Viterbi algorithms, etc.

Currently a Xilinx- based MTD model is available. Software MTD decoder is used in a special digital television system.
