Spacecraft Digital Imaging Cameras

Function

Imaging of land and water surfaces in three spectral bands onboard remote sensing and weather satellites.

Description

Digital mid-resolution multi-spectral imaging systems (MSU) register information on three CCD-lines equipped with different filters. A digital signal processor serves for the image data preprocessing.

The first onboard system, including two MSU-100 and one MSU-50 cameras will provide timely imagery for hydro-meteorological and ecological monitoring onboard the Meteor-3M spacecraft (launch 2006).

For the future modifications the MSU-100M and MSU-200 cameras, operating in the visible and near-infrared bands are being developed.
