Attitude determination example

Attitude determination example

The example demontsrates a way how to use the coefficients arrays and the Software.

Let us suppose that we have a direction in the S/C frame, determined by the angles u1, u2, where: u1 - angle between vector and X axis (polar angle) u2 - angle on the YZ plane from Y axis (anticlockwise);

Let u1=30.deg, u2=90.deg.

We want to know the direction in the GSE frame for date 10.09.1995, 1h.0min.0sec. ut.

We use the file 950909t1 (the beginning data 9.09.06), which line 2 interval beginning: date 10.10.95, time 1.926 thousands of sec, the interval duration is 4.583 thousand of sec. Our time of interest (3.6 thousands of sec) is within the interval.

We use the subroutine attid1. Our input parameters : ts=1.674 (which is 3.6 (the time of interest) minus 1.926 ) u1=30. u2=90. x1= -.280 x6= .891 x11= 53.2813 x2= .609 x7= -1.210 x12= 36.6949 x3= 1.209 x8= .594 z1= 2.0277 x4= .018 x9= -.446 z2= -53.2813 x5= -.159 x10= -.054
The result is the unit vector in the GSE frame: x= .869280 y= -.351664 z= .347397
