Experiment: DYMIO
OMNIDIRECTIONAL IONOSPHERIC MASS SPECTROMETER
Main scientific objectives:Investigation of the dynamics of the Martian Ionosphere and of its interaction with the Solar Wind.
DYMIO allows to measure:
main parameters of the ionospheric plasma: ion densities, temperatures and velocities.
angular and energy spectrum of superthermal ions up to 500 eV in the boundary layer between the ionosphere and the Solar Wind.
detailed mass composition of the ionospheric plasma up to mass 44 amu.
