Satellite multispectral imaging system (KMSS) and Coordinate&clock referencing system (KKVO) has been installed onboard "Meteor-M" s/c. These systems are used for Earth surface and atmosphere imaging as well as navigation measurements aimed at real-time monitoring.

The special software has been developed providing for multiband imagery synthesis and coordinate referencing by KKVO navigation measurements.

KMSS image data in combination with remote sensing data obtained in other spectral bands will contribute to the solution of the following fundamental scientific problems: study of biosphere changes, carbon cycles and other biogeochemical cycles and climate formation processes at the regional level.
