The Universal Navigation Instrument (UNP) has been designed for online determination of both orbit and spacecraft attitude control parameters. The Optico-Physical department is conducting this development with the involvement of several cooperating enterprises. The UNP design is based on the BOKZ family instrument and the inbuilt in it both receivers of navigation satellite signals and precise angular velocity sensors (AVS). The AVSs used are related to the gyros based on elastic waves in solids.

The Universal Navigation Instrument is planned to be operated in the motion control systems of various spacecraft.
