Datatake Envisat ASAR August 19, 2005 South-East Baltic Sea Kuronian Spit Comment The image was taken under west wind of 6-7 m/s (from the shore) and waves of up to 0,3 m. It had been raining heavy before the datatake. Along the shoreline, there are multiple low-contrast patches (1) stretched along wind. They mark river plumes and coastal rainwash containing surfactants of mixed origin. Polluted waters from Kuronian Bay (2) flow northward revealing local current direction.
