The SOC is actively working on the program. The scientific progrnam of the meeting will consist of invited reviews that are of general interest, oral, and poster contributions. The progrnam is being structured so as to include morning joint plenary sessions, and separate afternoon sections, which cover the following topics:

GAMOVIANA 

The SOC and LOC of GMIC-100 Meeting plan to convene a special memorial session tentatively entitled "The Universe of G.Gamow", where many-sides personality of Gamow should be represented: G.Gamow as an artist, as a popular writer, plus his innumerable jokes and buffoonery, in an attempt to introduce to the audience, notably the young scientists, the world of George Gamow and to understand the impact of this magnetic personality on his contemporaries. We expect the participation of Prof. I.R.Gamow, sun of the G.Gamow and other interesting reports of Memorial Session. 

The Gamow’s summer school will be held in August 8, 14 in the form of popular lectures for young scientists.

THE CONFERENCE SITE 

Odessa is the city wherein George Gamow was born. And "Odessa roots" were forever ingrnained in his character and his style of thinking. The LOC in Odessa will try to do its best and make earch participant to feel extraordinary atmosphere of our city, its spirit of freedom and keep interest in the search for nonstandard solutions.

CONFERENCE LOCATION:  

Gumaniratnii korpus (Humanitarian building) of the Odessa National University, Francuzskii bulvar 24/26, Odessa, Ukraine

The Conference will be held in Odessa near the Black sea shore, in one of the best health-resort regions. August is the most pleasant summer month in our city. The weather in August is usually pleasant, with maximum temperature near 30 C and minimum near 20 C. Rain is possible, but generally light at that season. The sea is warm (usually 20-25C), the weather is fine, not too hot and permitting to combine a participation in the conference and good relaxation. A bathing costume is useful.

VISA AND TRAVEL

All visitors (except for CIS countries) will need a Ukrainian Visa of stay. An application for a Visa should be done at the Ukrainian Consulate or Embassy in your country. To get it, you need an official invitation form Odessa National University. Please, as soon as possible send to LOC (gmic-100@mail.ru) your mail address, fax and e-mail.

ODESSA has an international airport with direct flights from Moscow, Vienna, Tel Aviv, Istanbul. The capital of Ukraine, KIEV, has regular airline connections with most of European countries. It takes around an hour to get Odessa from Kiev with the domestic Ukrainian airlines, and it takes a night by the intercity train. Please check suitable route with your local travel agent. In any case, participants are advised to book the tickets in advance, because August is a high tourist season in Ukraine.
